I’m Timmy Wong, a UBC Psychology graduate and marketing generalist with specializations in social media management, writing, and public speaking. My goal is to help agencies and businesses succeed in their communications department and its programs.
I started in this field in 2009, during my first co-op term at the Burns Bog Conservation Society. While I wrote media releases and gave presentations, I wanted to branch out into the digital world. With Volunteer Richmond, UBC Arts, and Invoke Media, I was able to start up social media channels, engage with users online, and work with web-based tools to showcase an organization.
Needless to say, these last 3 years have been amazing opportunities after another, as I learned more about social media best practices, how to write for the web, and how different businesses do communications.
Previously, my work has appeared on the UBC Arts webpage, the Eat St. blog, the Richmond Review, and the Delta Optimist. Please see my portfolio for some samples.
